Assisting the Church`s Ministry to Prisoners
Offered by: Prison Fellowship Ministries
Prison Fellowship Ministries is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization with one mission: exhort, equip, and assist the Church in its ministry to prisoners, ex-prisoners, victims, and their families, and to promote biblical standards of justice in the criminal justice system. To accomplish this mission, Prison Fellowship recruits, trains, and mobilizes volunteers from a wide variety of backgrounds and denominations to participate in a broad array of in-prison and community ministries.
Prison Fellowship founder Chuck Colson has long argued that crime is fundamentally a moral and spiritual problem that requires a moral and spiritual solution. That is why Prison Fellowship is a Christ-based ministry. Their vision, mission, goals, core values, and programs are all centered on the recognition that Jesus Christ alone has the authority and power to make broken lives new. They are happy to send their magazine, Jubilee, and Jubilee Extra newsletter for nine months to any U.S. or U.S. territorial resident who requests a subscription—free of charge.
